Only for Ladies

9:20 am ,I was on my usual Metro Ride to office .On one of the stations an old  lady and her son boarded the train, with all courtesy and without any delay i jumped off my seat and offered the seat to that lady. She gave me a appreciative and thank you smile before accepting the seat.
There was a uncle and a young girl sitting in the same row with Aunty ji.

I got busy with my iPod but  i kept standing right in front of  Aunty. May be she gets off somewhere before my station and i get back my seat.

A few minutes later  ,the uncle sitting with the Aunty ji got off his seat...i gave a glance at the empty seat between aunty and that girl..
The girl adjusted a bit to make room for me to sit.  She knew i had offered the seat to Aunty ji . Aunty ji smiled and gestured towards me to have that seat.

I smiled in response and started moving towards the seat..as i was about to sit..she irritatingly kept her hands on the seat and furiously asked me to move away.
I immediately looked back to confirm as to whom was she gesturing to ?

It was her son..
He came, tucked his bag under the seat and made himself comfortable on the seat.

The girl gave me a cheeky little smile and laughed quietly.
I threw up my hands slightly in desperation ,slightly in amusement.

Again back to my iPod ...song that was playing was from PEEPLI Live
"देस मेरा रंग रेज़ है बाबु  ||
घाट घाट यहाँ घटता जादू "

mahraaj...thr is just 1 thing i hav learned in delhi..auntiyon ko seat kabhi na do..
it so happened wen i was returning from Delhi to Solan after coaching in +2 and I had 6 bags wd me..but an aunty came wd his daughter and ordered me to stand up..
and imagine I stood up from hauz khas to ISBT in that blue line bus and holding 3 bags on my shoulders..

fck em all....!@#@$@!@#@...auntiyon aur ladkiyon ko bhool k bhi seat ni deta main..only the old and aged command respect from me..

Bhai ji aapka incident to jyada khatarnaak hai...
Blue Line bus me khada hona...Metro me khada hona..din raat ka fark hai..

:) Tapu bhai...aunty old hi thi...
Isliye di...main bhi sirf buzurgon ko hi deta hun seat...

His daughter :)

@Maneesh -- Ya fitness to theek hai but jis insaan ne aapko seat offer ki, aap usi ko koi aur seat lene se kaise rok sakte ho...

I often use this prerogative while traveling in a metro or bus in Delhi. Sometimes a glance can do wonders :P and sometimes pure insistence goes all in vain.

@Swati
Ya i know you people do that....but with events like this people change.

I used to offer a seat on a mere glance but with incidents like these sheer insistence would also not do :P

It's okay naa.. a bad gesture by sm1 shun't deprive of us of our goodness! We shun't generalize .. I'd say, just dn't relinquish ur seat for THAT auntie the next time you find her standing (no matter she's with a son or not ;))
